Nose Reshaping Surgery in India

All That You Wanted To Know About Broad Nose Correction

Did you know rhinoplasty for the nose is one of the most common facial plastic surgeries in India? From Shilpa Shetty and Jennifer Lopez to Priyanka Chopra and Tom Cruise, countless celebrities have gone under the knife to reshape their wide nose. If you are planning to undergo broad nose correction treatment in India, here are a few things you must know:

What Is Rhinoplasty?

To the uninitiated, rhinoplasty refers to a surgical procedure to reshape the nose and is often called a ‘nose job!’ Some of the common deformities that can be corrected via nose surgery include, changing nose size and shape, correcting a deviated septum, etc.

What Is Wide Nose Rhinoplasty?

People with wide noses are extremely conscious of their looks and looking for ways to sharpen their noses. With wide nose rhinoplasty or broad nose correction treatment in India, it has been clinically proven that the procedure could give you a proportionate and attractive nose.

This is an open surgery because the surgeon has to make substantial changes to your nasal bone structure. He/she modifies the nasal bone and the cartilage, thereby reshaping it while minimizing scarring.

What Must You Know Before Undergoing Rhinoplasty for Nose?

You can restructure the nasal bone to make it appear thinner and narrower using the osteotomy technique. But the procedure is complicated and must only be performed by a skilled and experienced surgeon. The entire process from start to end could take around one to two hours depending on the complexity of the problem while recovery could take several weeks. The initial recovery takes around one week; the patient must take extreme care to avoid unwanted complications.

Some of the most common candidates for rhinoplasty include patients with a bulbous or thick nose tip while the nostrils may appear flared. There could be several reasons for a wide nose – ranging from genetics and even ethnic reasons.

What Are the Different Types of Nose Jobs?

Rhinoplasty for a broad nose can be broadly divided into 3 different categories, viz. nasal osteotomy, narrowing the nasal tip and nostrils, and even administering derma filler injections to create shapely noses. Nasal osteotomy or medial osteotomy reshapes the mid-section of the nose to chisel outer longer sections on the nose bone.

A nose that’s bulbous on the tip can be sharpened and the nasal tip made narrow to improve its appearance. In some cases, the surgeon may also perform an alarplasty or nostril width surgery to correct the size and shape of your nostril.

Sometimes, nasal surgery is not needed; FDA approved derma fillers and Botox can help create a shapely nose. This procedure is called liquid rhinoplasty as it only requires Botox and soft tissue filler gels. Some surgeons use facial fillers like Juvederm and Belotero as fillers.

Unlike the earlier two procedures, a noninvasive rhinoplasty procedure is preferred because it is comparatively inexpensive, can be done in a single day, and does not involve any significant risk.
