Cosmetic Rhinoplasty

Cosmetic Rhinoplasty Treatment: Sheeba a young 27-year old residing in Muscat came to the OPD of Richardsons Dental and Craniofacial Hospital expressing her dissatisfaction with the appearance of her nose. A thorough clinical examination was done for her by Dr. Sunil Richardson and it was found that she indeed had a broad nose with a blunt nasal tip that looked incongruous with the rest of her face.

The nose is the most prominent part of the face and hence individuals are very conscious of its shape. Sheeba is an example of such patients who want correction of their nose shape. Most patients despite wanting a change are too scared of taking that step due to fear of external scars and surgery. However cosmetic rhinoplasty leaves no visible scar on the face, moreover, the total hospitalization is of two days with a one week recovery period.

 

 

Sheeba underwent rhinoplasty after the essential pre-surgical workup was done like Cone Beam CT scanning and appropriate blood tests. The surgery took 90 mins in all. She was made comfortable by providing adequate pain relief in the recovery period. There was minimal swelling after the surgery. She was discharged in two days. She came back to us in a week and we removed her nasal dressing. She was delighted with her result.
