Left TMJ or Subcondylar fracture fixed by ORIF
This patient sustained a Road Traffic Accident and come to Dr. Richardson’s dental and Craniofacial Hospital with lot of hope. He reported difficulties like inability to open wide and chew food, and we recommended a TMJ surgery.
DIAGNOSIS:
We identified fractures in the mandible in two places by taking a Cone Beam CT scan.
- The right body of the mandible
- The left TMJ or Temporomandibular joint or the jaw joint.
ORIF:
An excellent team headed by Dr. Sunil Richardson did Open Reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF). And he was absolutely fine in two days – post TMJ surgery.
